Do I Need a Referral to Start?
No. You do not need a referral to start physical therapy in the state of TX. You can see a physical therapist directly without needing a script from the doctor to be evaluated. This allows you to be seen quicker and get you on the path to living a pain free life with less hoops to jump through. Once you have established a plan of care, and if treatment will last greater than 10 business days, you then will need a referral. At that time you and your physical therapist will discuss further action if needed.
Billing
Powerhouse Physical Therapy is a fee-for-service, cash-based practice. This allows your treatment sessions to be directed specifically towards your goals and necessary treatments, rather than directing care based on what your insurance will cover. We do not take insurance and all payments are required at the time of service. Because we are an out-of-network provider with insurance companies, we can supply you with the necessary PT paperwork for you to file to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Reimbursement widely varies and are based on your insurance company and your out-of-network benefits for PT.
Payments for services provided by Powerhouse Physical Therapy are due at the time of services rendered. If you have questions please contact us at (972) 532-3321.
